ISSN 0001-5555 Sézary syndrome is an erythrodermic cutaneous T-cell lymphoma with haematological evidence of leukemic involvement, which is typically characterized by a monoclonal proliferation of atypical CD4+CD45RO+ lymphocytes (Sézary cells). We report here a case of CD8+ Sézary syndrome that was treated successfully with methotrexate. Sézary cells were CD3+, CD4–, CD8+, CD45RO+. They also expressed CC chemokine receptor 4 and 10, but not CXC chemokine receptor 3. The number of Sézary cells and serum levels of soluble IL-2 receptor were positively correlated with serum levels of CC chemokine ligand 17, 22 and 27, whereas they were negatively correlated with serum levels of CXC chemokine ligand 10.

BACKGROUND Erythroderma is a diffuse, inflammatory skin reaction that, in rare instances, is associated with hematologic malignancies such as cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (erythrodermic mycosis fungoides) or T-cell leukemia (Sezary syndrome or adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma). OBSERVATIONS We screened 30 patients with erythroderma (20 patients with erythroderma of known etiology and 10 patients w...

Background and aim: Adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) is an aggresive malignancy which may occur in human T lymphotropic virus1(HTLV1) infected persons. HTLV1 is endemic in Khorasan with prevalence of 2.3% in general population. Since specific cutaneous manifestations of lymphoma may occur in a significant number of patients, we studied ATLL patients in Mashhad.Mate...
متن کاملKIR3DL2 is a coinhibitory receptor on Sézary syndrome malignant T cells that promotes resistance to activation-induced cell death.
Sézary syndrome (SS) is an aggressive leukemic and erythrodermic variant of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma characterized by the presence of a clonal T-lymphocyte population in the skin, lymph nodes, and peripheral blood. We previously reported that KIR3DL2 represents a specific cell surface marker for the evaluation of the circulating tumoral burden and the follow-up of patients with SS. KIR3DL2 is ...

Although aplastic anemia (AA) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) are separate entities with different management, distinction between the two can be difficult on morphological basis due to hypocellularity of bone marrow. MDS is one of the serious complications of AA. Karyotyping is definitive in the diagnosis of MDS. Better and robust investigations like 18F-Fluoro-deoxy-Glucose Posi...
